Mbayo Bona is an actor, director, singer, writer, translator and slam poet from Tübingen, Germany, currently situated in New York City. He was trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), and finished their Conservatory Studio Acting program with a 3.90 GPA. Some of his greatest strengths as an actor are his empathy and patience, his collaborative spirit, his boundless passion, and, naturally, a healthy dose of humility and hard work.

Mbayo has done theater on an almost annual basis since sixth grade. He was fortunate enough to collect a range of theatrical experiences with English-speaking groups, such as the Provisional Players and the King’s Players, as well as some German-speaking groups like Scenario and (K)ein Drama. Since 2017, he’s been writing and performing slam poetry consistently and in 2018, he started acting in short films . He started working as a commercial writer and translator in 2019, which he does in both English and German.

In 2022, he celebrated his directing debut with his self-written play ‘An Early Summer Night’.
